Born in Billings MT, I met my wife at Montana State University. Together we raised two boys, both with families of their own. I spent 30 years in the financial services industry, retired in 2015 as Executive Vice President at Ally Financial and founded L. G. McCarty Consulting, LLC. For the past 10 years, I have specialized in consulting private businesses, executive coaching, and advisory work with University MBA Programs, holding a BS in Business Management, and an Executive MBA from the University of Notre Dame. I have a passion for coaching, spending 10-years as a USA Amateur Hockey Coach and 7 years as an ACHA Division II Collegiate Hockey Coach for the University of Michigan. I serve as a professional mentor, striving to pay-forward the good advice and mentorship I received over the years. I’m also a member of Sunset HOG, a motorcycle enthusiast and honored to call Steve my friend. I am committed to successfully leveraging my passion and experience in strong support of Steve’s legacy and all veterans who proudly served our country.

DAVID DEMENT
Secretary
My name is David Dement. I was born and raised in South Dakota, enlisted in the US Marine Corps after high school, and served 4 years during Desert Storm, where I maintained reverse osmosis water purification equipment, water heaters and diesel generators. After leaving the Marine Corp, I attended Colorado Tech and UCCS, studying Electrical Engineering Technology and Applied Physics. I have worked for Intel Corporation for 29 years, the first 15 years installing and maintaining plasma etchers and RF/Microwave generators, and the past 14 years on wet etch equipment. I have volunteered with Liberty Wildlife, rehabilitating injured wild animals, and educating the public on the species. I have volunteered with Homes for the Troops, helping landscape new custom homes for injured vets “returning home”. I also volunteered and helped assemble the traveling wall for Vietnam Veterans in Oregon and then again in Sturgis, SD. I met Steve Watts in 2014, thru the Sunset Chapter of HOG and rode many miles with him thru Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. I am honored to support his legacy through this foundation and the various veteran’s charities we support.

J. MICHAEL (MIKE) CUCITI
Board Member
My name is J. Michael (Mike) Cuciti, and I serve on the SGT Watts Veterans Foundation. I was born at Fort Eustis, VA, as my father was a Transportation Corp Officer. Before my father's
retirement, we lived in Virginia, France, Kansas, Florida, and California. After graduating from high school, I enlisted in the United States Army, completing basic training at Fort Ord, CA, and then to the Defense Language Institute (DLI) in Monterey, CA. to learn Czechoslovakian. I then went on
the train as a Voice Intercept Operator and was stationed on the German/Czech border. In my 20 years of service, I also served in law enforcement, administration, special projects, and as a recruiter. I have been stationed in California, Maryland, Minnesota, Oregon, Washington, Europe, and Korea. Once retired, I served my community as a Reserve Police Officer for the City of Hillsboro, OR, for 17 years. I have been married to my wife, Jan, for the past 49 years, and we have three grown children and four grandchildren. I have a BS degree in Information Technology and an MS in Applied Information Technology (MIS). I am a retired small business owner who supported a diverse clientele with their technology needs. I currently work with the elderly and teach them how to identify scams and stay safe online. I am an avid motorcycle enthusiast and have toured in both Europe and the United States. I currently serve as the Director and a Road Captain for the Sunset Harley
Owners Group (HOG) Chapter – Tigard. It has been my pleasure serving as a board member for
The SGT Watts Veterans Foundation giving back to those who selflessly served in the Armed Forces of the United States.

PAMELA ROYER
Board Member
I come from a strong military legacy dating back to the Civil War. My Grandfather
served in the Army during WWI and my father served in the Navy during WWII earning
two Purple Hearts. I am a proud USAF non-combat Vietnam Veteran of five years.
After training, I was stationed at Luke AFB and served in the elite MICAP/NORS Control
team earning a Commendation Medal. At Luke, I had global responsibility for acquiring
aircraft parts for the F-15 Eagle and F-4C Phantom Jets while maintaining meticulous
records. Upon returning to Oregon, I faced the challenges of an era where military
service, especially for women, wasn’t always recognized. In 1989, I married the love of
my life and consequently joined Legacy Health where I managed product conversions
with a focus on nurse training and product cost effectiveness. In 2016, I retired as a
manager of Legacy Good Samaritan Materials to care for my husband, who faced
serious health challenges. Today, we enjoy spending time with each other while
traveling, riding motorcycles and spending time with friends. I am humbled to be a part
of this Foundation that focuses on making a difference in the lives of our veterans who
have sacrificed so much for our freedom and now need a hand up. I formed a group of
quilters and we are busy making quilts, and distributing them to our veterans to remind
them we have not forgotten.

MICHAEL SWINARSKI
Board Member
My father, a Vietnam veteran, and my mother, the wife of an Air Force airman, have always been my role models in service to country, community, and family. While I have not served in uniform, I carry that same spirit of service with me today. Since moving to Oregon in 2010, I have volunteered with many community projects that support wildlife, education, and, most recently, veterans in the Pacific Northwest.
In my career, I help businesses as a leader in Information Security. My job is to build relationships and find the balance between keeping data safe and meeting business goals. I often act as a technical consultant, educator, and business advocate. My goal is to use this experience to help the SGT Watts Veterans Foundation grow and continue to make an impact.
Like many others, I love the open road and the roar of a motorcycle engine. I also believe the motorcycle community is filled with big hearts and people who are always ready to support a great cause. It is an honor and a privilege to be part of the SGT Watts Veterans Foundation and to give back to those who have served our country.

degree in Music and Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University and a master’s in
Educational Administration from California State University, Fullerton, also pursuing doctoral
